Pottery wheel experience, 3 sessions

Dive into the world of pottery and discover the joy of working with clay as you learn to throw on the wheel in our intimate, small-group workshop.

Session One:
We’ll guide you step-by-step through the essentials of wheel throwing—centering the clay and pulling up cylinders. By the end of this session, you'll have crafted a few unique cups or small bowls of your own.

Session Two:
Together, we’ll trim your pieces, add handles if you're making mugs, and prepare everything for firing.

Session Three:
You'll also get to explore glaze techniques on a pre-fired ceramic item. After glazing, your finished pieces will be ready for pickup within three weeks—or we can post them to you for a small additional fee.

Please note that, due to the nature of the pottery-making process, there could be a few weeks gap between sessions.

All materials and tools, plus tea, coffee, and snacks to keep you fuelled while you create. Wear comfortable clothing you don’t mind getting messy. Long nails can make working with clay tricky, as you'll be using your fingertips a lot. If you have long hair, we recommend tying it back to keep it out of the way while working on the wheel.

With just maximum three participants per session, you'll receive plenty of personal attention—making this a flexible and highly efficient way to begin (or deepen) your pottery journey.
